Ministry of Defense authorizes Buffalo MPV armored engineering vehicle for use in the Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and authorized the Buffalo MPV armored personnel carrier for delivery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This armored vehicle, manufactured using MRAP technology, is considered one of the safest in the world.

The Defense Forces have commissioned  armored engineering vehicle BuffaloMPV. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has codified and authorized the BuffaloMPV armored engineering vehicle for delivery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This armored vehicle is called one of the safest in the world

- the ministry said in a statement.

The agency said that the Buffalo MPV is a U.S. Army engineering vehicle manufactured using MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) technology.

This is a class of military vehicles with enhanced ballistic protection. The vehicles have a V-shaped bottom to dissipate blast energy and special shock-absorbing seats. Structurally, the armored vehicles consist of a monolithic armor capsule and external explosion-absorbing units.

Currently, engineering armored vehicles of this model are in service with the armies of Canada, France, Italy, Pakistan, and the United Kingdom. The Buffalo MPV belongs to the third category of protection according to the STANAG 4569 standard and can withstand a mine blast with an explosive force equivalent to 20 kg of TNT.

The windows are protected by 15-centimeter bulletproof glass, and the armor capsule is made of composite armor, additionally protected by bulletproof grilles.

The machine is also equipped with a 9-meter manipulator with a built-in camera and sensors for defusing explosives.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has authorized the first domestic robotic firefighting system for use in the Armed Forces. The robot can operate at a distance of up to 2 km from the operator and can be used in hazardous situations.
