According to a list provided to the journalists accompanying the president, guests at the state banquet on Thursday evening are enjoying lobster in tomato soup, crispy beef short ribs, Peking duck, braised seasonal vegetables, salmon prepared in mustard sauce, and a fried pork bun.
For dessert, guests will be offered shell-shaped pastries, tiramisu, as well as various fruits and ice cream.
Peking duck is considered a signature dish of the Chinese capital, while the fried pork bun is a classic breakfast dish in China's southeastern region, particularly in Shanghai.
