According to the agency, these will be the first nationwide elections in Israel since the Hamas attack in 2023 and the subsequent wars in the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Iran.
The exact date of the vote had remained uncertain since May, when the Knesset voted to dissolve itself, paving the way for early elections.
On Sunday, during a meeting of the parliamentary committee, Ofir Katz stated that the elections will be held on the date set by law – October 27.
