During the session of the Kyiv City Council, deputies blocked the rostrum and staged a scuffle in the presidium, demanding that the issue of early termination of the powers of the deputy mayor, Secretary of the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Bondarenko, who is a witness in the case of land corruption in Kyiv, be put to a vote, UNN reports.

During the discussion of the agenda, MP from "Servant of the People" Andriy Vitrenko went to the rostrum and, surrounded by deputies, stated that more than 40 deputies had signed a request to Mayor Klitschko to submit for consideration the issue of early termination of Bondarenko's powers.

"More than 40 deputies have signed a request to the Kyiv City Mayor to put to a vote at the next plenary session the issue of no confidence, early termination of the powers of the Secretary of the Kyiv City Council, Volodymyr Bondarenko," Vitrenko said, and the deputies blocked the rostrum.

Mayor Klitschko stressed that this issue is not on the agenda, which was agreed upon earlier.

As a result, the deputies surrounded Klitschko in the presidium and began to snatch the chairman's remote control from him and stated that they demanded that the issue of Bondarenko's resignation be considered immediately.

Then a short break was announced, after which Klitschko announced that the deputies would gather on April 8 to hold a secret vote on Bondarenko's resignation.

Klitschko had previously stated that Volodymyr Bondarenko has the status of a witness in the case of land fraud.

"And he, as the Secretary of the Kyiv City Council, was elected by the deputies. They can also dismiss him. In accordance with the regulations of the Kyiv City Council and procedures. He is currently suspended from preparing and conducting meetings of the Kyiv City Council," Klitschko said.

Therefore, according to him, he chaired the meeting today as the mayor.
