The SBI has exposed the head of a Probation Center department who demanded money to exempt an individual from mobilization. The suspect faces up to five years in prison.
Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI), in cooperation with the National Police in the Lviv region, have exposed the head of one of the district departments of the branch of the State Institution "Probation Center," who organized a scheme to receive money from persons liable for military service for "assistance" in evading mobilization. This was reported by UNN with reference to the State Bureau of Investigation.
Details
The investigation established that in August 2025, the official convinced the sister of a man liable for military service that he had sufficient connections to influence officials of the Shevchenkivskyi District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC) in Lviv.
The official promised the woman that her brother would be able to leave the TRC premises without hindrance and would not be mobilized into the ranks of the Defense Forces. The official valued his "services" at 12,000 US dollars.
He was unable to handle the sum on his own, so he involved a group of individuals in the illegal activity.
The suspect has been notified of suspicion of receiving an improper benefit for himself and third parties for influencing a decision-making process by a person authorized to perform state functions, committed by prior conspiracy by a group of persons (Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years
