U.S. President Donald Trump reacted with optimism to the initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy regarding a possible meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. This was reported by UNN.

Responding to questions from journalists at the White House, Trump noted that he was pleased that "they are perhaps talking about a meeting."
"I think we had a lot in common before this. ... I think it would be great if they met. They should do it. Get it done,"
He called Zelenskyy and Putin "good people who have to make compromises so that up to 45,000 people do not die on the front lines every month."

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote an open letter to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin — proposing to schedule a meeting and set a date.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that Zelenskyy's letter to Putin will be distributed at the UN, OSCE, and the Council of Europe.
The spokesperson for the Russian dictator, Dmitry Peskov, has already stated that the Kremlin has reviewed the open letter from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Vladimir Putin.
