In the Zaporizhzhia region, military and civilian engineers are working in three shifts to build fortifications to protect residents and the vast front line, despite Russia's attempts to hinder construction.

The fortifications in Zaporizhzhia are being built in three shifts; military and civilian engineers have teamed up to create a reliable project; Zaporizhzhia region holds a huge front line, so the fortifications will protect not only Zaporizhzhia residents.

The head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration Ivan Fedorov said this during a telethon, UNN reports .

Today, the fortification is being built in three shifts. Our builders, both military and civilian, start early in the morning and finish late at night

- Fedorov said.

The official emphasized that the fortification will protect "definitely not only Zaporizhzhia residents",  - Fedorov reminded that "Zaporizhzhia region holds a huge front line that protects a huge number of places".

Russian military forces are trying to prevent the construction of fortifications, so builders need to take into account the security situation.

Of course, we also focus on the security situation. The enemy does not like the fact that we are building fortifications, so it is constantly, closely watching and trying to hunt our builders who continue to build fortifications

- Fedorov said.

He also noted that there is now a work schedule agreed upon by President Zelensky, the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense.

We are building according to the schedule; just 4 days ago we introduced our journalists to the construction site to show our residents that today construction is taking place on an extremely large scale - in order to provide our military with everything they need for military purposes and, of course, to protect our civilians

- Fedorov summarized.
