Details

The initiator of draft law No. 15258 is the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko. The explanatory note mentions the need to improve the control mechanism for granting statuses to war veterans and their family members.

This draft law proposes to establish a mechanism for holding officials accountable whose actions led to the unlawful granting of veteran status or the obstruction of audits.

From now on, the illegal granting or deprivation of war veteran status may be punished by a fine ranging from 11,900 to 45,900 hryvnias, and in the case of a repeated violation - from 17,000 to 51,000 hryvnias.
