Covering up to 25 km and hitting targets under various types of EW — new generation of FPV strike drones tested in Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Brave1 tested a new generation of strike FPV drones from eight Ukrainian manufacturers at a training ground, which covered up to 25 km and hit targets under the influence of various types of electronic warfare (EW). Some of the solutions fully completed all tasks in conditions as close as possible to combat. This was reported by Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov, UNN reports. 

The Ministry of Defense, together with Brave1, tested a new generation of strike FPV drones from eight Ukrainian manufacturers at a training ground. Serhii Sternenko, an advisor on UAV efficiency, is also working on the development of this type of FPV. During the tests, the drones covered up to 25 km and hit targets under the influence of various types of EW. Some of the solutions fully completed all tasks in conditions as close as possible to combat

According to him, the ministry's task is to scale these technologies in the army as quickly as possible and ensure accelerated delivery so that units receive effective tools immediately after the results are confirmed.

The Ministry has already built the necessary system:

• simplified codification to shorten the path from development to the front line;

• changed the approach to forming requirements: 80% of resources go to effective solutions based on battlefield data, 20% to new technologies;

• conducted regular field tests together with Brave1.

We are forming a separate testing methodology for each class of UAV. We involve all manufacturers whose solutions are not yet contracted by the state in the trials. If a drone confirms its effectiveness in combat conditions, we immediately launch the contracting and scaling process. It was according to this model that the testing of the new type of FPV took place. We are implementing innovations in the military to defeat the enemy in every technological cycle and, following the President's task, to protect the sky, stop the enemy at the front, and strike at the Russian economy

Since the beginning of 2026, under the contracts of the Defense Procurement Agency (DOT), the military has received twice as many interceptor drones as in the entire year of 2025.
