Commander of the 11th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Sirchenko dismissed after loss of Siversk

Serhiy Sirchenko, commander of the 11th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, was removed from his post after the occupation of Siversk in northern Donetsk region by the Russians. This was reported by UNN with reference to the 11th Corps' post on Facebook.

The unit's press service published Sirchenko's statement, where he thanked his subordinates for their cooperation during his 500 days in office.

The 11th Army Corps is a combined-arms operational-tactical formation (association) within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

From 2014 to 2018, Serhiy Sirchenko participated in hostilities in eastern Ukraine. He commanded the 56th separate motorized infantry brigade and the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade, and served as chief of staff - 1st deputy commander of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade.

In 2023, he was appointed chief of staff - deputy commander of the troops of the "East" operational command of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In December 2024, he was appointed commander of the 11th Army Corps and commander of the "Luhansk" operational-tactical group.

On December 23, 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces were forced to withdraw from the city, and it has been occupied by Russian troops since that day.
