Chinese President Xi Jinping has sought to strengthen ties with Russia, emphasizing the importance of strategic Sino-Russian relations and seeking to boost cooperation in various fields.
Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in Beijing today. He noted close communication between the two countries and emphasized the need to strengthen ties with Russia. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Xi Jinping noted that this year he met twice with the Russian president and government. He also noted close communication between the legislature and political parties.
In the first 11 months of this year, bilateral China-Russia trade reached the annual trade volume target of 200 billion U.S. dollars jointly set by President Putin and myself ahead of schedule, demonstrating the strong resilience and broad prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries
According to him, maintaining and developing Sino-Russian relations is a strategic choice made by both sides based on the fundamental interests of the two peoples.
"China is willing to cooperate with Russia.... to continuously enhance the positive effect of the two countries' high-level political relations and continue to walk hand in hand in the process of comprehensively promoting each country's economic and social development," Xi Jinping added.
Xi emphasized the need to deepen cooperation between the countries in the areas of economy and trade, energy, communications, and other areas.
