China has developed the largest arsenal of hypersonic weapons capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads, surpassing Russia and the United States in this area.

In a recent report, a leading US Defense Intelligence Agency official stated that China is developing the largest arsenal of hypersonic weapons; Russia has three types of hypersonic weapons, and they have been used in strikes against Ukraine. In addition, it is reported that the United States has not yet deployed a single hypersonic weapon, although billions of dollars are being spent on this industry.

This is reported by UNN with reference to Voice of America and Bloomberg.

Details

China is far ahead of Russia and even the United States in the field of hypersonic weapons, having concentrated the largest arsenal of hypersonic weapons capable of carrying both nuclear and conventional warheads.

This was stated by one of the experts of the US Defense Intelligence Agency during his speech at a hearing in Congress.

He called the DF-17 missile, adopted in 2020 and capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 1,600 kilometers, the most effective.

According to senior US defense intelligence analyst Jeffrey McCormick, China has the largest hypersonic arsenal in the world. Over the past 20 years, Beijing has invested heavily in the development of conventional and nuclear technologies

It is also important to note that, according to the Pentagon, Russia has three types of hypersonic weapons that have already been used to strike Ukraine.

According to Bloomberg's evening briefing, the US has spent $12 billion on hypersonic weapons, but no word on their deployment.

For reference

Hypersonic weapons can travel five times faster than sound, making them difficult to intercept by existing defense systems.
