China's Ministry of Commerce expressed "resolute disagreement" with such a step and emphasized that it harms relations between Beijing and Brussels.
The department noted that the sanctions target suppliers of high-tech products accused of cooperating with Russia's military-industrial complex.
This contradicts the spirit of consensus between China and the EU and seriously undermines mutual trust
China warned that it will take measures to protect its companies if the decision is not reviewed.
The ministry added that "all consequences will be borne by the EU side".
