The Trump Administration is imposing sanctions against a Chinese oil refinery and 40 shipping companies over Iranian oil.
The Donald Trump administration is imposing economic sanctions against a large oil refinery in China and approximately 40 shipping companies and tankers involved in transporting Iranian oil, reports UNN citing AP.
The publication notes that this step fulfills the Trump administration's threat to impose secondary sanctions against companies and countries doing business with Iran. This is also part of the Republican administration's joint campaign to cut off Iran's key source of income – oil exports.

At the same time, this month the US imposed a physical blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway in the Persian Gulf that is crucial for global energy supplies.
