According to him, the new government of Hungary is shaping its defense strategy based on the interests of the country and its allies, with one of the first steps of the government being an apology to partners, including Finland, whose NATO accession the previous government had long blocked.

He added that "the government is monitoring not only the Russian-Ukrainian war but also the conflict in the Middle East," and that "these conflicts will only end when governments, militaries, and societies want to put an end to them."

Last week, Hungary's Prime Minister Peter Magyar stated during the NATO summit that Ukraine is a victim of Russian aggression and has the right to defend its territorial integrity. He also emphasized that Budapest will continue to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, but without military support.
