The Kapitoshka kindergarten will have a solar power plant.
The Brovary City Council, in cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the NGO Energy Efficiency School, has signed a Memorandum on the installation of solar power plants in the Kapitoshka preschool. This was announced by the mayor of Brovary, Ihor Sapozhko, UNN reports.
This year, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) GmbH, the Executive Committee of the Brovary City Council, and the NGO "School of Energy Efficiency" to install solar power plants in the Kapitoshka kindergarten as part of the project "Promoting Energy Efficiency and Implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive in Ukraine" (FEER), funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of the Swiss Confederation (SECO)
According to him, to support this project in the community, three representatives of the Brovary City Territorial Community attended a special four-day online training on Energy Management and Energy Efficiency Project Management in September-October 2024.
"Based on the knowledge gained, we have identified promising areas for promoting energy efficiency in the Brovary City Territorial Community: reducing energy consumption, reducing CO2 emissions and increasing the use of alternative energy sources," added Ihor Sapozhko.
It is worth noting that the initiative to install a solar power plant in Kapitoshka is another step by Brovary towards an energy-efficient future that opens up prospects for sustainable development of the entire community.
Earlier, the mayor of Brovary reported that 150 kW solar panels had been put into operation at one of the critical infrastructure facilities of Brovaryteplovodoenergia. Another facility continues to install more powerful equipment.
