According to the publication, an explosion occurred in a gasoline storage tank that was undergoing maintenance at the TÜRKİYE Petrol Rafinerileri A.Ş. oil refinery in Izmit, Kocaeli province. After the incident, a large number of fire and emergency crews were dispatched to the scene.
It is noted that sirens sounded at the plant, and employees were evacuated. Police took security measures, and firefighters began to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported.
