On Saturday, December 6, Russia attacked the city of Novhorod-Siverskyi in the Chernihiv region. As a result of the shelling, the local police department caught fire, and residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were damaged. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine and the head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi district military administration, Oleksandr Seliverstov, as reported by UNN.
Tonight, Russians attacked the central part of the city of Novhorod-Siverskyi with drones. As a result of enemy strikes, the building of the Novhorod-Siverskyi district police department caught fire, and residential buildings and civilian infrastructure were damaged by explosions.
Based on these facts, investigators opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (War crimes).
The head of the Novhorod-Siverskyi district military administration, Oleksandr Seliverstov, later wrote on his Facebook page that a person had died as a result of the enemy attack.
Unfortunately, a 50-year-old local resident died in his home during the shelling.
He also clarified that the enemy attacked Novhorod-Siverskyi with 4 "Geran-2" type attack UAVs. As a result of the attack, the police station, the building of the medical college, and at least eight private residential buildings and a civilian car were damaged.
