Nationalist George Simion won the presidential election in Romania. With 100% of the votes counted, Simion won 40.96% (3,862,405 votes). The 38-year-old leader of the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians is followed by Nicuşor Dan, who received 1,979,711 votes, with a percentage of 20.99%. In third place is Crin Antonescu with 1,892,925 votes, or 20.07%. Next are politicians such as Victor Ponta and Elena Lasconi, with 13.05% and 2.68% respectively.
Thus, in the second round, Simion will compete for the presidency with the mayor of Bucharest, centrist Nicușor Dan.
