SBU counterintelligence exposed an FSB agent network that passed information to Russia to adjust airstrikes. Four members of the network were detained in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, according to UNN.
The counterintelligence department of the Security Service exposed an FSB agent network that was adjusting the Russian invaders’ airstrikes against the Defense Forces in Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions. As a result of a multistage special operation, SBU officers simultaneously detained four enemy informants in Ukraine’s eastern and central regions
During the investigation, it was established that the suspects acted separately from one another but had a common handler from Russia. The main "targets" were logistics warehouses containing weapons and ammunition belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian air defense positions, as well as locations where personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were concentrated.
One of the members of the network was a former employee of a machine-building plant in Kramatorsk. According to the investigation, he collected information for the enemy about the locations of operational airfields and fortifications in the region.
Two more agents were "leaking" the coordinates of Ukrainian military facilities in Dnipropetrovsk region to the Russian invaders. They included an employee of a municipal enterprise from Kamianske and a deserter from Pavlohrad. In Kirovohrad region, an unemployed man from Znamianka was also detained; on the FSB’s instructions, he walked around the city and recorded geolocations that, in his opinion, were used by the Defense Forces
For the sake of secrecy, the suspects transmitted intelligence data to a Russian security service officer through an anonymous chat in a messenger and also deleted correspondence after each communication session. According to the SBU, the men came to the attention of the Russian security service after posting anti-Ukrainian comments in chats on Telegram channels.
SBU officers exposed the subversive activities of the enemy agents in advance, documented their crimes and detained all four members. During searches of the detainees, mobile phones containing evidence of work for the FSB were seized. Investigators of the Security Service notified the suspects that they were under suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law)
The perpetrators are currently in custody. They face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Let us remind you
A UOC (Moscow Patriarchate) priest was sentenced to 15 years in prison for adjusting shelling in Donetsk region. He was recruited by the FSB through his daughter, who lives in Russia.
