Zelensky: Ukraine controls areas in Kursk region from which Russian army struck Sumy region - Zelensky

Ukrainian Armed Forces Chief Syrsky reported control over 1,000 square kilometers in the Kursk region of Russia. These are the areas from which Russia has been shelling Sumy region, having launched 2,100 attacks since June 1.
At a meeting of the Staff, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine control about a thousand square kilometers in the Kursk region, including the areas from which the Russian army struck Sumy region, which amounted to 2,100 since June 1. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his evening address, UNN reports.
"I held a meeting of the Staff, and Chief Commander Syrsky also reported on the front and all key defense areas, as well as on the operation in the Kursk region. General Syrsky reported that about a thousand square kilometers in the Kursk region are controlled. These are, in particular, the areas from which the Russian army launched attacks on our Sumy region. As of today and since June 1, there have been almost 2,100 attacks on the territory of Sumy region. Therefore, our operations are a purely security issue for Ukraine, the liberation of the border from the Russian military," Zelensky said.
