russians have been warned about possible malfunctions of the YouTube video hosting service, and the russian media are already talking about a complete blocking of the hosting service in September this year.
In September, russia plans to finally block YouTube video hosting. This is reported by the russian newspaper gazeta.ru, citing a source close to the putin administration, UNN reports with reference to Medusa.
Details
In September, the russian authorities plan to permanently block YouTube. However, in the summer, YouTube will begin to degrade in different regions of russia: videos will slow down and the app will become incorrect.
Already today, on July 12, rostelecom warned russians that YouTube may experience malfunctions, allegedly due to worn-out Google Global Cache equipment. And while the authorities claimed "technical problems with equipment owned by Google and used on the operator's network infrastructure and peer-to-peer connections," Medusa's sources see signs of deliberate slowdowns on YouTube's part.
