According to the company, out of 21 services, Premium+ costs $22 per month, which is more than the previous price of $16. The cost of an annual subscription has risen to $229 from $168.
X said it was “adjusting” prices to support the experience it offers. For existing subscribers, the rates will be recalculated by January 20. Similar price increases are seen in some international markets. For example, prices in the European Union have risen to 21 euros from 16 euros monthly.
In Canada, Premium+ rates will increase from $20 to $29. Some markets will be more impacted than others. X Premium+, which completely removes ads among other features, will cost users in Nigeria ₦34,000 monthly, up from ₦7300. Similarly, users in Turkey will have to pay ₦770 for the service, up from the previous price of ₦300.
The basic subscription to the platform remains unchanged at $3 per month.
