SpaceX is negotiating with the U.S. Department of Defense to sell computing capacity, and the potential value of the deal could reach several billion dollars. This is reported by The Wall Street Journal, writes UNN.

According to the publication, the negotiations are taking place against the backdrop of the Pentagon's plans to build data processing centers at its facilities. The future deal is similar in structure to the agreements that SpaceX previously concluded with Google and Anthropic regarding the provision of computing capacity.
Representatives of SpaceX and the U.S. Department of Defense did not respond to journalists' requests for comments.
Despite the recent drop in SpaceX's stock price below the initial public offering price, Wall Street analysts maintain positive expectations for the company. As one of the reasons, they cite Elon Musk's ability to conclude large-scale infrastructure deals and develop the artificial intelligence direction.
In June, Google agreed to pay SpaceX $920 million per month for computing capacity under a cloud deal that will run until mid-2029. Anthropic also agreed to pay SpaceX $1.25 billion per month for capacity to support its Claude artificial intelligence system.
