The White House expects Congress to approve additional aid to Ukraine in January, with the urgency of this aid underscored by the ongoing conflict and logistical challenges.
The White House expects the US Congress to approve additional funding to help Ukraine in January. This was stated by the coordinator of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, UNN reports with reference to Rallyo Svoboda.
"We want to get this funding as soon as possible. It looks like it will happen sometime in January, but the sooner the better," he said.
He reminded that Joe Biden's administration may announce another aid package for Ukraine by the end of this month.
"It takes several days, sometimes weeks, for some of these materials to get to Ukraine. So it's very important that we have a push in January with additional funding because the fighting is not going to stop. If the ground is frozen by the end of January, it will make it easier for the Russians to move," the White House official added.
