More than 2,000 soldiers of the Ukrainian Anna Kyiv Brigade, who have been trained by the French side for two months, are preparing to return to Ukraine. This is the first Ukrainian brigade to be not only trained but also fully equipped by France as part of the European Union's military training mission for Ukraine. This was reported by the American news agency Associated Press, according to UNN.
Details
Ukrainian soldiers were trained by instructors from the French Task Force Champagne to effectively interact on the battlefield and use the weapons that France will provide to counter Russia.
It is noted that when fully deployed, the Anna Kyiv Brigade will consist of 4,500 soldiers, including infantrymen, engineers, artillery teams, and other specialists. Most of them have been recently mobilized and had only a few weeks of basic training before arriving in France in September.
The brigade's arsenal will consist of 18 AMX 10 light tanks, 18 truck-mounted Caesar artillery pieces, 128 armored personnel carriers, anti-tank and anti-aircraft missile systems, and other weapons.
This news was shared on his Facebook page by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
I sincerely thank the people of France and Defense Minister Sebastien Le Coronne for their leadership and invaluable support. This strengthens Ukraine's defense capabilities and brings our common victory closer,
The Minister also recalled that last month he personally met with Ukrainian soldiers who were undergoing training in France and noted their high morale and level of training.
At the same time, the French General Staff posted footage of the training on social network X and reminded that this is the first Ukrainian brigade trained and equipped in France.
The Anna Kyiv brigade, trained at the request of the Ukrainian army as part of the EU mission to train the Ukrainian military, illustrates France's strong support,
The footage shows the Armed Forces of Ukraine training to fire CAESAR, firing a machine gun on an armored vehicle, using man-portable air defense systems, and practicing assault operations. France became the first country to fully train and equip an entire brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with weapons and military equipment.
Recall
Earlier, President Zelenskyy announced that a Ukrainian brigade would return from training in France in late November. France is ahead of other countries in reinforcing and manning Ukrainian brigades.
