It is noted that, according to data from Ukraine's Ministry of Agriculture, the country may export about 29.6 million tonnes of agricultural products in the 2026–27 marketing year, 54% less than the previous estimate of 64.4 million tonnes. Wheat exports could decline by 53% to 8.3 million tonnes compared with the previous forecast.
Ukraine is one of the world's largest grain suppliers, and the agricultural sector generated more than half of the country's export revenue last year. Russian attacks on the port of Odesa, which usually handles about 90% of grain shipments, are blocking these flows, while alternative routes via the Danube are limited by drought, which has caused record-low water levels in the river
It is pointed out that the new harvest is filling storage facilities and affecting domestic prices. Thus, approximately 59 million tonnes of grain storage capacity in Ukraine could be completely filled by the beginning of November, while by the end of autumn the shortfall will amount to about 11 million tonnes.
Reminder
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts a grain-storage shortfall of up to 11 million tonnes by the end of autumn. Romania will help increase the capacity of the Port of Constanța and border-crossing points.
