The Ministry of Defense presented a Ukrainian laser simulator that fully replicates the Stinger MANPADS. The system allows for practicing the full cycle of destroying enemy drones.

The Ukrainian military has received a new domestically produced laser simulator for practicing the interception of Russian "Shahed"-type drones. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, according to UNN.
Details
It is noted that the simulator fully replicates the dimensions, weight, and operational algorithm of the FIM-92 Stinger man-portable air-defense system (MANPADS).
With the help of the system, the operator can practice the full cycle of working with the MANPADS - from target detection and lock-on to tracking, launching, and simulated destruction
The simulator also allows the instructor to monitor the soldier's actions, specifically evaluating reaction speed, aiming accuracy, and the correct execution of the algorithm.
The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the new system is intended to strengthen the training of air defense unit personnel within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Plan, which aims to intercept at least 95% of Russian missiles and drones.
