President of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine Vadym Gutzeit and acting Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Matviy Bidnyi signed a letter to the International Olympic Committee expressing serious concerns about the participation of russian and belarusian athletes in the Tokyo Olympics.

The Ukrainian side emphasized that due to the unprecedented aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, supported by belarus, athletes from these countries cannot be considered neutral.

The letter states that representatives of these states are actively supporting the military campaign on the territory of Ukraine, which contradicts the spirit of Olympic solidarity and international sports law.

Among the athletes whose admissions were found to be controversial are Alan Ostayev, Magomed Murtazaliev, Arslan Bagayev, Alina Kasabieva, Natalia Malysheva, Abdulla Kurbanov, Nachin Mongush, Ivan Litvinovich, Angela Bladtseva, Daria Chupris, Anna Tserakh, Georgiy Gurtseyev, Anastasia Shkurdai, Ivan Shtyl, and Oleksiy Korovashkov.

The Ukrainian side calls on the IOC to take decisive measures to exclude these athletes from all international sporting events until russia stops its aggressive military policy against Ukraine.
