Trump suggests he may cancel Biden's authorization for Ukraine to strike Russia with American weapons

On Monday, US President-elect Donald Trump  suggested that he might reverse Joe Biden's recent decision to allow Ukrainian troops to use US long-range weapons to strike Russian territory. UNN reports this with reference to The Guardian. 

Trump called Biden's decision “stupid.” When asked whether he would consider reversing the decision, Trump replied: “Maybe. I think it was very stupid.” 

The White House responded by noting that the decision was made after several months of discussions that began before last month's election. White House National Security Advisor John Kirby said: “I can assure you that in the conversations that we've had with them since the election and at various levels, we've explained to them what's behind this, why we're doing this.

The New York Times reported that U.S. President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use long-range missiles to strike Russian territory.

Polish President Andrzej Duda said that the US decision to allow Ukraine to use US-made weapons to strike deep into Russian territory could be a decisive moment in the war.

Reuters cited sources as sayingthat Trump reiterated in a December meeting with Ukrainian and French leaders Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Emmanuel Macron that he wanted an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine and negotiations to end the war quickly.

On December 16 , Trump saidthat he would talk to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about ending the war.  Trump noted that his team is trying to end the war.
