Trump Media & Technology Group offers traders to pay up to $100,000 per month for faster access to Trump's posts on Truth Social. This has sparked a negative reaction on Wall Street due to the impact on markets.

The company Trump Media & Technology Group has discussed the possibility of charging traders and investors up to $100,000 per month for faster access to US President Donald Trump's posts on his Truth Social platform, UNN reports, citing The Financial Times.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Trump Media & Technology Group named a six-figure monthly sum during negotiations with potential buyers of the Truth API data service.
Firms engaged in proprietary trading and hedge funds pay huge sums for ultra-fast data feeds because every millisecond matters when reacting to market-moving news. Trump often makes important statements on Truth Social that cause massive swings in global markets.
The announcement of the API product on Thursday drew a negative reaction on Wall Street, as traders and investors viewed the prospect of paying a company linked to the president for market-moving information.
"People will pay because they have to," said a hedge fund executive. "If you fall behind on this news, you get crushed."
TMTG, a controlling stake in which is owned by the Trump family, controls Truth Social. The company did not immediately respond to multiple requests for comment.
Addendum
The publication notes that Trump and his sons have amassed enormous wealth since his return to office last year, including through trading in assets and industries that the president supports and promotes. Earlier this month, Trump's financial disclosures showed he earned over $2 billion in 2025, primarily from cryptocurrency ventures.
With 12.9 million followers on Truth Social, the president frequently posts updates on the most important current affairs issues, including the war with Iran and other geopolitical events that regularly impact financial markets.
Shortly before the Trump administration suspended a series of tariffs against countries around the world last year, Trump posted on his Truth Social account that it was a "great time to buy." Shortly thereafter, the S&P 500 index rose by 9.5 percent, a historic one-day move for the index.
He has also promoted individual stocks, praising companies such as Nvidia and Apple, and fueling rises in their share prices. More recently, after the start of the war with Iran, on March 23 Trump posted that there had been "very good and productive negotiations with Iran," leading to a sharp drop in oil prices.
The media outlet emphasizes that pressure to purchase faster access to these posts will increase if traders and hedge funds begin buying the new feed, as firms fear competitors may gain an edge over them, although not every financial institution will need access to fast, machine-readable data for their strategies.
Social media platforms such as X also offer data feeds to algorithmic traders via financial terminals like Bloomberg. TMTG expects the feed to provide coverage 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The general public will not notice a difference in speed between Truth API and updates on Truth Social itself, as Truth API will provide a "millisecond" advantage to feed clients.
"Milliseconds are a big deal in this world, high-frequency trading firms and systematic quant hedge funds will definitely want this product," said the CEO of a US market infrastructure company.
