Ukrzaliznytsia lacks more than 30% of employees in some specialties due to the outflow of personnel to the Armed Forces. Railroad specialties are losing popularity among applicants, which could lead to an even greater shortage in the future.

There are certain specialties at Ukrzaliznytsia where the staff shortage is currently over 30%. This is already a critical level.

This was stated by the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC Oleksandr Pertsovsky during a telethon, a correspondent of UNN reports.

When asked whether there is a shortage of personnel, Pertsovsky replied:

Yes. We have certain specialties where the shortage of personnel is over 30%. This is already a critical point. This is, of course, due to the fact that many people have volunteered for the Armed Forces

0] According to him, this is also due to the fact that for many years railway specialties have been losing their interest among applicants.

Previously, as railway workers who have been working for the company for many years recall, there was a competition, many people competed for a place to get into a railway vocational school or university, but today these things are being reduced. This may not be a matter of tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, but if we don't start solving it today, in a few years it will be a bigger deficit than the shortage of railroad cars

- Pertsovsky said.
