Details
They note that the bulk of the market is occupied by imported tomatoes, mainly from Turkey.
According to traders, tomato prices have risen by an average of 20% since the beginning of the week. Currently, imported tomatoes are sold at 80-100 UAH/kg (USD 1.91-2.38 per kg), depending on the quality, volume of supply and variety of products.
Tomato supply was limited this week. Local factories almost did not supply any tomatoes as the production season ended. Therefore, imported products were not able to fully meet demand, allowing sellers to raise prices.
Currently, greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine are 12% more expensive than in the same period last year.
The market expects further price increases for these products, as demand will remain high despite rising prices.
