Biden will meet with Zelensky and other world leaders on the sidelines of the NATO summit to reaffirm support for Ukraine, including new military aid and security agreements.
The White House said it is working on organizing several meetings between US President Joe Biden and various world leaders on the margins of the NATO summit, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This was discussed at a press conference, dedicated to the NATO summit, UNNreports.
"... the President will have a pretty busy schedule given his obligations as the host of the summit, we're working to set up several meetings with various world leaders on the margins of the summit, including President Zelensky... And we'll have more information about them to share in the coming days," a top Biden Administration official said.
He also noted that "next week you will also see a strong demonstration of U.S. and allied support for Ukraine. Allies will reaffirm that Ukraine's future is in NATO; make important new statements about how we are increasing NATO's military, political and financial support for Ukraine. This is part of Ukraine's "bridge to NATO.
"And on the sidelines of the summit, President Biden will host an event with President Zelensky and nearly two dozen other allies - excuse me - as well as nearly two dozen of our allies and partners who have signed bilateral security agreements with Ukraine, which," a Biden Administration official added .
He said the United States will also announce new steps to strengthen Ukraine's air defense and military capabilities to help Ukraine continue to defend itself today and deter Russian aggression in the future.
"Together, the Washington summit will send a strong message to Putin: if he thinks he can survive a coalition of countries supporting Ukraine, he is sorely mistaken," summarized a Biden Administration spokesman.
