The United States imposed sanctions against Russian military structures, including the Ground Forces, for violating the arms non-proliferation law regarding Iran, Syria, and North Korea. The restrictions took effect on July 24.
The US State Department has added the Russian Ground Forces and a number of Russian Defense Ministry units to the sanctions list for violating the law on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction regarding Iran, Syria, and North Korea. This is reported by DW, writes UNN.

The sanctions took effect on July 24, according to a State Department notice published on the Federal Register's website on Tuesday, August 4.
Ground Forces, Defense Ministry departments, companies, and individuals
A number of structures and units of the Russian Armed Forces and the Russian Defense Ministry were added to the blacklist. Among them are the Russian Ground Forces, the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Defense Ministry, the Directorate for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research and Special Projects of the Russian Defense Ministry, as well as the 1061st Center for Material and Technical Support.
Sanctions were also imposed against the companies "Gideon Alpha" and LLC "International Invest Company." The restrictions also extend to all legal successors, units, and subsidiaries of the listed structures.
Among the individuals included in the sanctions list are Russian citizens Andriy Husiev, Andriy Kosolapov, Vladyslav Morozyk, Oleksandr Prykhodko, and Serhii Tsybariev, as well as citizens of Malaysia, North Korea, Taiwan, Syria, and Iran.
US institutions are prohibited from cooperating with those on the list
As stated in the notice, U.S. government agencies and departments are prohibited from purchasing goods, technologies, or services from those on the sanctions list or entering into relevant contracts with them.
It is also prohibited to provide them with any support, sell military-purpose products, or issue licenses.
The Iran, North Korea, and Syria Nonproliferation Act (INKSNA) provides for the imposition of sanctions against foreign legal entities and individuals for transferring to these countries or receiving from them goods, services, or technologies that fall under international arms control agreements or could significantly contribute to the development of weapons of mass destruction, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles.
