The President of Ukraine presented state awards to soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, police officers and rescuers

On the second anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to the Armed Forces, National Guard, Security Service, police and rescuers who defended Bucha and evacuated civilians during the Russian occupation.
On the second anniversary of the liberation of the Kyiv region, during a ceremony at the Memorial to the defenders of the Bucha community, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards. This was reported by UNN with reference to the press service of the President of Ukraine.
On the second anniversary of the liberation of Kyiv region from Russian occupants, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the raising of the State Flag of Ukraine on the flagpole of the Memorial to the defenders of the Bucha community and presented awards to soldiers of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Security Service of Ukraine, police and rescuers.
In particular, Colonel Oleksandr Voloshyn of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Captain Oleksiy Fandetskyi, who provided evacuation and escort of convoys of vehicles with civilians from Bucha to Bilohorodka, received awards from the President. In total, more than 300 vehicles with citizens were evacuated on March 9-10, 2022.
The award-winning Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Kolodyazhnyi, Sergeant Oleksandr Fesyk, Sergeant Myron Khymytsia, and Senior Sergeant Oleksandr Martyniuk destroyed enemy columns in the settlements of Bucha district, Kyiv region;
Junior Sergeant Serhiy Doroshenko and Captain Ruslan Mamchyk, who installed mine and engineering barriers that successfully repelled enemy assaults.
Soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, Sergeant Maksym Bovchalyuk and Sergeant Serhiy Kvitko, also received awards for their participation in fierce battles against the Russian occupiers in the Kyiv region;
Patrol policeman Oleh Shvets, who took part in stabilization activities in Irpin, Bucha and Hostomel;
Police Major Ivan Dulkay, who has been documenting and investigating the Russian army's brazen war crimes since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.
The awards were also presented to the SBU servicemen: Sergeant Hryhoriy Kalachnikov and Sergeant Andriy Mendzhul, who were involved in counter-offensive actions by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of Zabuchchia and preparation of a bridgehead for the further liberation of Bucha.
Vitaliy Farenyk and Pavlo Zaika, employees of the State Emergency Service, who ensured the evacuation of civilians from the cities of Vorzel, Bucha, Borodyanka, Irpin, and Gostomel to Kyiv.
For us, this is a war to defend Ukraine and everything that makes people human. That is why this war has global significance. This is a war for the right to exist for our state and, at the same time, for the right to life for every person. It is a war for dignity for our people and for every nation that seeks its own destiny. This is a war for no one to dare to become a beast against others
The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of all Ukrainians whose lives were taken by the Russian occupiers.
