The number of victims of the Russian attack on Kyiv has risen to 28, with 9 reported dead, said the capital's mayor Vitali Klitschko, reports UNN.

As reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, in Kyiv, as of 08:00 on August 1, seven people died in the Darnytskyi district and two in the Solomianskyi district as a result of the enemy attack. Among the dead is a 22-year-old police officer.
Among the 28 injured, in particular, four minors sustained injuries – a 14-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, as well as a 17-year-old young man. One of the girls is preliminarily diagnosed with poisoning from combustion products, the other minors have multiple shrapnel wounds and lacerations.

On the night of August 1, the enemy once again launched a massive combined strike on the capital, using ballistic missiles, the National Police reported.
The Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi, Dniprovskyi, Pecherskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, and Shevchenkivskyi districts came under attack.
According to the prosecutor's office, in the Solomianskyi district, there was a partial destruction of apartments in a 5-story building. In the Darnytskyi district, 13 multi-story residential buildings were damaged, and window glazing was also blown out in buildings in the Dniprovskyi district. In the Pecherskyi district, private houses were destroyed.
As a result of the shelling, multi-apartment and private residential buildings, non-residential structures, a school, supermarkets, a car wash, and cars were damaged, the police stated. In particular, as indicated by the government Center for Strategic Communications, the strike damaged the "Velmart" hypermarket.
