The President of Ukraine said that the most difficult thing is to return children who were taken from the occupied territories from Russian captivity. At an international conference in Canada, more than 70 countries discussed the return of deported Ukrainians.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to international partners to return children who were taken from the temporarily occupied territories to Russia. He said this in an evening address, UNN reports.

The most difficult thing to return is not adults, but children. Little Ukrainians who were stolen from their families. Children who were taken from the temporarily occupied territory of our country - taken to Russia. And whom Russia is trying to hide,

- the President said.

According to him, sometimes children themselves can get in touch with volunteers, human rights activists or their relatives in Ukraine. But most Russians deprive them of any means of communication, take away and destroy children's documents, and send them to other Russian families.

No one can say for sure how many there are today. We know about tens of thousands. These are very young children and teenagers. Those who have relatives in Ukraine. And those whose relatives, unfortunately, were killed by Russian strikes,

- Zelensky emphasized.

It is noted that this week a conference was held in Canada on the item of the Peace Formula, which is dedicated to the return home of all Ukrainian prisoners, deported and stolen Ukrainians.

More than 70 states and international organizations took part in the conference, says Ukraine's leader.

Our Bring Kids Back UA initiative is working. The United Arab Emirates, Qatar, the Vatican - intermediary countries - and many other countries are working with us to do this,

- Zelensky added.
