The situation on the eastern front has significantly escalated, the enemy has intensified its offensive and is actively attacking positions, prompting decisions to strengthen defense with electronic warfare, air defense, replenishment of drones and anti-tank missiles, and the deployment of additional reserves.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that the situation on the eastern front has deteriorated significantly in recent days, with the enemy intensifying its offensive, actively attacking positions in the Liman and Bakhmut directions and trying to break through the defense in the Pokrovsk direction. Decisions have been made to strengthen the most problematic defense areas with electronic warfare and air defense systems, replenish stocks of drones, anti-tank missiles, and move additional reserves of forces and means, the Chief of Staff said, according to UNN.

The situation on the eastern front has escalated significantly in recent days. This is primarily due to a significant intensification of the enemy's offensive after the presidential elections in Russia. The enemy is actively attacking our positions in the Liman and Bakhmut sectors with assault groups supported by armored vehicles. In the Pokrovsk sector, they are trying to break through our defense using dozens of tanks and armored personnel carriers

- Syrskyi said on Telegram.

According to him, "this is facilitated by the warm, dry weather, which has made most of the open areas accessible to tanks." "Despite significant losses, the enemy is stepping up its efforts by using new armored units, which periodically achieves tactical success," Syrskyi said.

"Therefore, the first day of my work in the area of operation is dedicated to this direction and taking all necessary measures to stabilize the situation, increase the effectiveness of our troops and inflict maximum losses on enemy units," the Chief of Staff noted.

Based on the conclusions about the nature of the enemy's actions, he said, "decisions were made to strengthen the most problematic areas of defense with electronic warfare and air defense means." "Also, the stocks of drones of all types, anti-tank missiles have been replenished, and additional reserves of forces and means have been moved," he said.

Again, he said, "the question of achieving technical superiority over the enemy in high-tech weapons has arisen.

"Only this will give us the opportunity to defeat a larger enemy and create conditions for seizing the strategic initiative," emphasized Syrskyi.

The second "serious problem," he said, "is to improve the quality of training of military personnel, especially infantry units, so that they can make the most of all the capabilities of military equipment and Western weapons." "First of all, the solution to this problem lies with the Land Forces Command, which has returned from the combat zone in full force," he said.

"The results of my work will be taken into account in the training plans of the troops and command and control bodies," Syrskyi said.

According to him, he also awarded the best soldiers with insignia and valuable gifts.

"In personal communication with our servicemen, we discussed the current situation and ways to resolve all problematic issues. We are aware of the real scale and degree of the threat from the enemy and are ready to take adequate and effective actions. We are continuing our work. Glory to Ukraine!" - Syrskyi summarized.
