The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, after the appeal, agreed to hold consultations with the President regarding the candidacy of the Minister of Defense, but only after the appointment of the Prime Minister. Earlier it was reported that Zelenskyy would propose Ihor Klymenko for this position.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, after the appeal to initiate consultations of parliamentary factions and groups with the President regarding the future candidate for Minister of Defense, reported that such consultations will be held after the appointment of the Prime Minister, reported on Thursday by People's Deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak on social media, writes UNN.
Before the start of the Rada's work, he announced an appeal to the Chairman of Parliament to listen to the people and initiate consultations of parliamentary factions and groups with the President regarding the future candidate for Minister of Defense. The Chairman of the Rada reported that we will hold such consultations after the appointment of the Prime Minister
People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko on social media also indicated that "it is unknown whether the appointment of the Minister of Defense will be considered today. This issue remains open for now."
People's Deputy Olga Vasylevska-Smaglyuk noted on social media that "regarding the vote for the Minister of Defense, there will be a separate meeting of the Servant of the People faction. After the vote for the new government."
