South Korean Hyundai Rotem tanks are already near Kaliningrad: Polish army re-equips border brigades with new equipment

The 9th Armored Cavalry Brigade of Poland has received new K2 Black Panther tanks manufactured by Hyundai Rotem. The equipment is deployed in Braniew, 153 km from Kaliningrad, as part of a large-scale contract for more than 980 tanks.
K2 tanks manufactured by the South Korean company Hyundai Rotem have been delivered to the 9th Armored Cavalry Brigade, which is stationed in Braniv, near the Russian-Polish border.

The process of rearming another unit of the Polish Army with Korean equipment continues. On November 14, the first K2 Black Panther tanks were delivered to the 9th Braniewo Armored Cavalry Brigade in Braniewo (153 km from Kaliningrad, Russia).
The tanks arrived at the Branevo units on trailers. Throughout Thursday, representatives of the army and the South Korean side will be completing the formalities necessary to accept the vehicles.
Further, these tanks will be equipped with systems used in the Polish army, including communications equipment
The agreement on the purchase of South Korean weapons for the Polish army was approved in July 2022 by the then head of the Polish Ministry of National Defense, Mariusz Blaszczak.
The order for K2 tanks was divided into two stages. In the first stage, Poland was to purchase 180 vehicles, and in the second - more than 800 tanks in the K2PL standard. It is also planned to launch production in Poland in 2026.
