According to Bild, the statements were made last week during a meeting of the influential Seeheimer Kreis group, which unites conservative SPD members of the Bundestag. Joe Weingarten of Rhineland-Palatinate reportedly said of Scholz that his reputation among the people in the country is “at rock bottom.
MP Christian Schreider from Ludwigshafen was quoted as saying that he could no longer convince party members to participate in the campaign for Scholz - they were no longer ready for it.
