The State Border Guard Service does not report a sharp increase in illegal border crossing attempts despite the new mobilization law, but such attempts continue on a daily basis, especially on the borders with Moldova and Romania.

The new law on mobilization has not increased the number of people willing to illegally cross the border, although attempts continue daily. Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, told UNN .

"There hasn't been such a sharp increase in attempts to illegally cross the border in the recent period, but unfortunately, such attempts continue on a daily basis," Demchenko said.

According to him, border guards detect violators both in the green zones of the border, where there are no official checkpoints, and directly at the checkpoints. On legal border crossing routes, violators often use forged documents.

"But if we compare the number of violators on the green border and at checkpoints, most of these attempts are recorded on the green border. And the areas with the highest number of such attempts are the borders with Moldova and Romania," he concluded.
