Sandu meets with Pritzker: they discussed Moldova's role in Ukraine's reconstruction process

Moldova and the U.S. discussed Moldova's role in contributing to Ukraine's economic recovery through infrastructure development, including roads and railways, hosting companies involved in Ukraine's recovery, and attracting investment to develop Moldova's economy.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu met with U.S. Special Representative for Ukraine's Economic Recovery Penny Pritzker. The press service of the Moldovan president reported what the politicians discussed, UNN reported.

During the meeting, Sandu emphasized the importance of continuing U.S. assistance to Ukraine, which is protecting peace in Moldova as well by resisting the Russian invasion.
The talks focused on the role that the Republic of Moldova can play in the process of rebuilding Ukraine.
Modern and safe roads and railways on our territory can facilitate connections between Ukraine and Romania and the rest of the European Union, boosting regional trade and our economy. In addition, our country is ready to host companies involved in the reconstruction of Ukraine to facilitate their access and further investment in the neighboring country.
The officials also discussed how the war across the border has affected Moldovan citizens and their businesses, and discussed improving infrastructure and attracting investment to the country to develop the economy and create jobs.
Penny Pritzker emphasized that in all these efforts, the United States remains a strong ally of Moldova. President Maia Sandu expressed gratitude for the assistance offered to her country to overcome the energy, economic, security and humanitarian challenges of the past two years, as well as for the consistent partnership since independence.
