Major General pavel klimenko of the russian army was probably killed in the fighting in Ukraine. This was reported by pro-russian publics, as well as by Radio Liberty, writes UNN.

General klymenko commanded the 5th separate motorized rifle brigade named after oleksandr zakharchenko. His death was reported on social media. The opposition russian publication Vazhnye Istori confirmed that the news of the general's death was commented on by his relatives.
The circumstances of his death are currently unknown.
klymenko was accused of organizing torture and collecting money from his subordinates for sending them to the rear.
The Astra investigation stated that klymenko organized the torture of russian servicemen on the territory of an abandoned mine in occupied Donetsk. They were forced to agree to participate in assault groups and extorted money from them.

This is the 13th report of the death of a russian general in Ukraine, of which only eight have been officially confirmed.
In particular, in February of this year, a strike on the russian-occupied Belbek airfield in Crimea allegedly killed russian lieutenant general olexander tatarenko.
Last summer, russian general sergei goryachev was almost certainly killed in southern Ukraine. At the time of his death, he was acting commander of the russian 35th combined arms army.
