Russian Defense Ministry comments on the strike on Kyiv: it was a “retaliatory” attack

The Russian Defense Ministry claims that it attacked the SBU and Luch design bureau facilities in response to the attack on the Kamensky plant. However, Ukrainian air defense shot down all 5 Iskander-M ballistic missiles fired at Kyiv.
The Russian defense ministry said that the attack on Kyiv today was allegedly in response to the Ukrainian Defense Forces' strike on the Kamensky Combine in Rostov Oblast. The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that today they successfully attacked the SBU control center , the Kyiv design bureau “Luch”, as well as the position of the “Patriot” complex, UNN reported.
The Russian Ministry of Defense wrote on Telegram that on December 18 , six US-made ATACMS tactical missiles and four air-launched Storm Shadow cruise missiles were allegedly launched from the territory of Ukraine at the Kamensky Combine in Rostov Oblast.
In response to the actions of the Kyiv regime, supported by Western supervisors, this morning a group strike with long-range precision weapons was launched against the SBU control center, the Kyiv design bureau “Luch”, which designs and manufactures Neptune missile systems, ground-launched cruise missiles “Vilkha”, as well as the position of the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system
The Russian Defense Ministry said that “the target of the strike was allegedly achieved” and “all objects were destroyed.
In turn, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that as a result of combat operations, air defense shot down all five Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles that Russian criminals had launched at Kyiv.
