"As a result of a special operation in Kyiv and Odesa, two FSB agents were detained. They were preparing missile attacks on military units of the Defense Forces and energy and telecommunications facilities in three regions," the SBU reported on social media.

According to the intelligence service, the agents' special focus was on "army units that provide security for the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, data on the Defense Forces in Poltava region, as well as the Kyiv TV tower and the capital's CHP plant.

"For covert intelligence gathering, one of the Russian agents got a job as a forwarder in an Odesa company that supplies food to the Defense Forces. Another suspect collected information about the technical condition of the Kyiv TV tower after it was shelled in March 2022. He also photographed the appearance of one of the thermal power plants that provides electricity and heat to a large part of the capital region," the SBU said.

"According to the available data, the aggressor needed this information to make a decision on adjusting repeated or new attacks on the local thermal power plant and TV tower," the SBU said.

SBU officers, as noted, timely exposed the intelligence activities of Russian agents. During the special operation, both attackers were detained red-handed while spying on potential "targets" for the occupiers.

According to the investigation, one of the enemy accomplices was a process engineer at a food processing enterprise in Odesa. The other was a 24-year-old Kyiv resident.

At the end of January this year, they were remotely recruited by an FSB officer in Moscow and Moscow region, the SBU noted.

The SBU investigators have served both suspicion notices under Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
