The Polish Embassy in Kyiv does not stop working despite the threat of massive air strikes from Russia. Polish diplomats rely on Ukrainian air defense and continue to work as usual.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Kyiv continues to work. Ambassador Piotr Lukasiewicz told Polish Radio, UNN reports.

The decision to suspend work due to the threat of massive Russian air attacks was made by diplomatic missions of the United States and a number of other Western countries.

Ambassador Piotr Łukasiewicz emphasized that Polish diplomats will not stop working and will continue to operate in the current war regime.

"We have our own security systems, our own information on security in Kyiv and Ukraine, and we also use information from our allies. We are not interrupting our work, we are working. We have no intention of closing the embassy. We rely heavily on Ukrainian air defense and believe in it, it has repeatedly proven its effectiveness in repelling attacks on civilian targets," - explained Piotr Lukasiewicz.

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski also commented on the risk of Russian attacks on Kyiv and noted that Polish diplomats are still on duty.

"Despite the increased risk of Russia's attacks on Kyiv, our diplomats are still on duty. This is one of the visible signs of Poland's solidarity with Ukraine, which is fighting for freedom," Sikorski emphasized.

Context

In addition to the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, the diplomatic missions of Italy, Greece, and Spain have also decided to suspend their work. This is due to the high probability of a massive attack on Kyiv by Russian long-range missiles and drones. Diplomats recommend that citizens of their countries living in Kyiv and other places refrain from traveling and stay near shelters.
