Parliament adopts law on liability for illegal lobbying

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed a law introducing administrative liability for illegal lobbying, which is an important step for the country's European integration.
The Verkhovna Rada has adopted as a whole the draft law "On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses regarding violation of legislation in the field of lobbying," which is important for Ukraine's European integration. This was announced on Thursday by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak, UNN reports .

According to Zheleznyak, the law is important for Ukraine's European integration.
The document introduces administrative liability for lobbying without registration and for violation of lobbying legislation.
Now lobbying without registration in the Transparency Register will be considered illegal. This is punishable by a fine of fifty to one hundred tax-free minimums (UAH 850-1 700).
And if the violations were committed during the year , the fine will be in the amount of from five hundred to one thousand tax-free minimum incomes (UAH 8 500-17 000)
They will also be fined in case of:
- failure to submit or late submission of the report by the lobbying entity;
- failure to submit or untimely submission to the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption of an application for termination of lobbying;
- taking actions or making decisions in conditions of conflict of interest during lobbying.

On February 23, the Verkhovna Rada adopted in the second reading the draft law on fair lobbying, which was necessary for the start of negotiations on EU membership.
In March, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the bill.
