Russian disinformation infrastructure has sharply increased information pressure around the topic of the so-called "ultimatum" to Ukraine regarding the withdrawal of troops from Donbas. This was reported by the Center for Strategic Communications, as conveyed by UNN.

Details

According to the Center, in just one day, about 2,500 publications on FIMI resources dedicated to this topic were recorded. This refers to the dissemination of messages about an alleged demand for Ukraine to leave Donbas "within two months."

The Center notes that this "ultimatum" is part of a broader information pressure campaign. It is presented as a supposedly "realistic scenario for ending the war," reinforced by narratives about "Western fatigue," "division in NATO," and "no alternatives to concessions."

In parallel, Russian resources are actively manipulating statements by Western politicians and trying to link the war in Ukraine with the situation in the Middle East, creating a sense of global pressure on Kyiv.

Separately, basic propaganda theses are being intensified in the information space, particularly about "Ukraine's incapacity as a state," its dependence on international aid, and its alleged role as a "source of instability."

Overall, according to estimates by the Center for Strategic Communications, about 9,600 materials about Ukraine appeared on approximately 130 disinformation resources within a day. For comparison, about 5,000 materials were published in about a thousand legitimate media outlets.

Thus, about 66% of all foreign mentions of Ukraine are formed precisely through disinformation networks.
